A video based on a work-in-progress experimental opera by Jeff Kowalkowski
and Marko Ciciliani. Internationally recognized composers and performers,
Kowalkowski and Ciciliani have been developing Bosch
since 1995.
Various sections have been performed in concert and workshops around the world.
Eventually, the complete cycle of the operatic piece will take five hours
to perform. For his CD High Relief in 1998, Marshall edited an 11-minute
audio mix-down of an earlier version of the opera. Here, Marshall captures
Kowalkowski and Ciciliani in performance June 5, 1999 at Pauline Oliveros
Deep Listening Space in Kingston, NY and applies
the digital audio/video Cuisinart to the proceedings.

digital video component of ALL POWER TO THE PEOPLE!,
the first two phases of the work were completed in 1999. The first phase of
the video production was aided by Paul Chan, Manchui Leung, Allan Hurtt, Gloria
Williams, John Kim, and Aib Gomez-Delgado. Phase One saw 3 work-in-progress
shows at The Kitchen, NYC in February
'99. Phase Two was performed twice at the Walker
Art Center, Minneapolis, MN as a part of a two-week residency during
the last two weeks of August '99. The video component consisted of highly
edited archival and original footage, processed digitally, mixed live, and
projected on a main screen with two smaller side screens providing projected
supplemental titling and live digital VJ scratching.
